ART GALLERY I - OIL PAINTINGS.
I have called the pieces in this Gallery "oil paintings" to distinguish them from the paper collages in Gallery III and the acrylic works of Gallery II, the latter of which were created using the drip painting technique. With the exception of a few pieces (principally the "Blue Grotto Series", where the focus was on massing and color), what I was aiming for in these paintings was strength and fluidity of line and luminous space. Artist notes specific to each work will accompany most of them, providing the particular influences that contributed to their inspiration. These may include not only other art, but also film, music, dance and philosophy and thus may reach across subject and media boundaries.
